CHARLESTON, WV — Today, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) announced they are supporting U.S. Senator Joe Manchin’s campaign for re-election. CWA represents over 3,000 West Virginia workers in the telecommunications industry, as well as public employees.

“Senator Manchin has a long record of standing with West Virginia’s working families, and has been a champion for good paying jobs with benefits, worker safety and protecting people with pre-existing conditions,” said Elaine Harris, Communications Workers of America, International Staff Representative – District 2-13. “West Virginians can trust Joe Manchin to do the right thing for our state.”

Robin Young, the West Virginia State Council President for CWA, said,“Attorney General Patrick Morrisey made millions as a Washington lobbyist for Big Pharma and powerful special interests, and he continues to use his office to carry water for his former clients. This is a simple choice: Joe Manchin is a true West Virginian who we can count on to fight for working families, and Patrick Morrisey takes his marching orders from the opioid industry.”

Senator Manchin said, “I’m honored to have the working men and women of CWA stand with me in this campaign. Together we will keep working hard to create new jobs and skills training centers, and make serious investments in infrastructure, including broadband.”
