Today, the Manchin campaign announced that it is launching the “I Know Joe” web series. It will feature videos of West Virginians sharing their personal stories about the Joe Manchin West Virginians have come to know over the years.
The people of West Virginia can keep up with the web series by following the hashtag #IKnowJoe on Facebook and Twitter. The series will spotlight the tremendous work Joe Manchin has done for communities across the Mountain State and the people he represents.
The first I Know Joe episode features coal miners thanking Senator Manchin for his work to protect their health care benefits. In the U.S. Senate, Manchin successfully fought for the permanent funding of health care benefits for 22,600 miners and their families. Now, he is working to secure the pension benefits earned by West Virginia coal miners through years of hard work.
“West Virginians know Joe and the values he stands for,” said Danny Whitt, a retired coal miner from Red Jacket, WV who appeared in the first installment of the series. “Joe Manchin is a coal miner’s senator because he’s always been there for us and continues fighting for West Virginia’s working families. Coal miners know Joe because he shows up all the time to coal communities and listens and get results. He’s not one of these politicians who comes to the coalfields right before an election just looking for votes.”
