Charleston, W.Va. — U.S. Senator Joe Manchin this evening joined hundreds of friends and supporters at the University of Charleston to underscore his commitment to continuing his service in the United States Senate.

“This is a critical time for West Virginia and for our country. We are facing so many challenges and opportunities — from creating good-paying jobs to combating the substance abuse crisis to ensuring health care coverage for our people,” Manchin said. “I want all West Virginians to know that I am wholeheartedly dedicated to continuing to build bipartisan consensus in the Senate. Just like I’ve always done, I’ll keep faith with the people of West Virginia by working with anyone who wants to help our state and fighting against anyone who wants to put our people down. From the bottom of my heart, I thank the people of West Virginia and am ready to continue working together to make our Mountain State even stronger.”

In the coming weeks, Senator Manchin plans to continue traveling the state to meet with hard-working families, hear their concerns and share his vision.
